Summit represents a balanced approach to van conversion – serious capability without overcomplicating things. Built on a 2024 Mercedes Sprinter AWD chassis in Graphite, this van combines the lessons learned from years of building and living in these rigs with the components that consistently prove themselves on the road.

The layout centers around what matters: sleep, cook, store gear, stay comfortable. Walnut cabinet accents paired with durable Formica cabinetry create a space that looks good but holds up to real use. The Flare bed system extends to 78″ of sleeping depth – enough to sleep sideways comfortably – while keeping the rear cargo bay open for bikes, skis, and whatever else you’re hauling. Walnut countertop with continuous grain sink cover, undermount sink, and two-burner induction cooktop make the kitchen functional without taking up unnecessary space.

Climate control is straightforward and proven: Espar diesel heater integrated with the van’s fuel system, Thinsulate and natural wool insulation, and a 12V air conditioner. Three-zone LED lighting with dimmers and bedside reading lights let you adjust the space from bright workspace to low-key evenings. Awning windows on driver, passenger, and rear doors provide ventilation where you actually need it.

The 660Ah Victron Smart Lithium system paired with 520W solar and a 3000W inverter handles extended off-grid stays. We’ve tested this capacity on multi-week trips – it works. Alternator and shore power charging give you options when solar isn’t cutting it. The 32-gallon fresh water system with outdoor shower means you can stay out longer between fill-ups.

Storage is sized for actual use. Massive gear storage drawers and an open rear cargo bay accommodate bikes, climbing gear, skis – the equipment that justifies owning a van like this in the first place. The upholstered seating area with flip-up table provides space for working remotely or just sitting down after a big day.

Outside, Summit carries the gear management pieces that matter: Vertical Vans modular roof rack with LED light bar, Fiamma awning, Owl Vans ladder and tire carrier, bike rack and cargo box. Black Rhino Arsenal wheels on BFG KO2 A/T tires handle forest roads and winter conditions. Mercedes’ factory heated power swivel seats, 360° parking cameras, DISTRONIC cruise control, and lane assist make the drive there comfortable.
