Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to common questions about our builds, process, and available vans.

For anything more specific, reach out and we’ll follow up directly.

How long does a build out take?

Our typical build timeline is 10-12 weeks.

What’s the difference between a custom build and a pre-built van?

A custom build is designed from the ground up around how you live, travel, and use the van. Layout, materials, and features are selected collaboratively through the design process.

A turn-key van is fully built and ready for immediate purchase. These vans are based on proven layouts and systems and offer the same level of craftsmanship without the wait. Availability varies.

We also offer personalized spec vans, which start from a refined layout (as in our turn-key spec vans) and allow for select customization.

Can I bring my own van for you to convert?

Yes. Many clients bring their own van. We’ll review the vehicle to ensure it meets the requirements for the intended build. If you don’t yet have a van, we can also assist with sourcing to make sure the platform is a good fit.

Do you offer different layout options or templates to start from?

We work from proven layouts that have been refined over time, but they are not rigid templates. These serve as a strong starting point and can be adapted based on your priorities. This approach balances customization with reliability and helps avoid untested design decisions.

How long does a typical van build take?

Most builds take approximately 10-12 weeks once construction begins. Timing can vary slightly depending on the build type, level of customization, and current shop schedule. Because we intentionally limit the number of vans we build at one time, timelines are predictable and controlled rather than rushed.

What kind of input will I have during the design process?

You’ll be closely involved during the design and planning phase, where key decisions are made. Once the design is finalized and the build begins, execution follows that plan closely to maintain quality and avoid unnecessary changes mid-build. This structure keeps the process smooth and predictable.

Do you do any partial work on vans, or does it have to be a full conversion?

We focus on complete builds rather than partial or piecemeal work. This allows us to maintain system integrity, quality control, and long-term reliability. In some cases, limited customization may be possible within spec or turn-key builds, depending on scope.

How much does a full van conversion cost?

Our typical builds range from $180,000 to $200,000 all-in (including the van).

Pricing depends on several factors including the vehicle platform, specifications of electrical and exterior components, and the level of customization you choose.

We walk through pricing early in the process and outline how each decision affects the overall cost, so you have a clear understanding before moving forward.

Does the van have a shower?

We prioritize living space over permanent indoor showers, based on years of real-world use and client feedback. Many people who add built-in showers find they rarely use them and regret giving up valuable interior space.

Our vans include a heated rear shower located in the garage area between the rear cargo doors when open. This works exceptionally well for three-season use, post-adventure rinses, and everyday needs. For longer trips, many clients prefer using recreation centers, gyms, or RV parks, which provide full facilities (and unlimited hot water) without sacrificing interior livability.

For clients who truly want an interior shower, we offer a flexible shower option. This includes a discreet floor pan with integrated drainage and ceiling-mounted attachment points for a removable curtain. When not in use, the space functions as open living area, preserving usability without a permanent enclosure.

Do you offer secondary row seating?

We only work with seating solutions that meet Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. For safety and compliance, we do not install non-approved seating or seatbelt systems.

If you plan to carry additional passengers, especially children, we strongly recommend reviewing your state’s seatbelt and passenger regulations before moving forward. Any required seating must be properly certified and, if needed, installed by an approved third party prior to the start of your build.

This approach ensures your van remains safe, compliant, and aligned with long-term use expectations.

Do you offer a warranty?

We provide a 1 year/ 20,000 mile warranty on our craftsmanship and materials in all of our builds.

Components such as heater, fridges, and electrical items are subject to the manufacturer’s warranty restrictions. In the event that you have a problem with any of these items, we are here to help you get it sorted out.

What van platforms do you build on?

We primarily focus on Mercedes Sprinter vans, as they offer the highest quality foundation for the builds we design today. That said, we also have extensive experience converting Ram ProMaster vans and can also accommodate Transit builds when the platform aligns well with the project.

During the consultation, we’ll help determine which platform is the best fit based on your goals, budget, and how you plan to use the van.
